Tenacity Triathlon Team
Beginner and Intermediate Triathletes Ages 10-19
The Tenacity Team works to develop the necessary triathlon skills to support safe competition in the sport and a life-long love for triathlon. Beginner through intermediate triathletes gain self-confidence by setting, working towards, and achieving goals with their teammates in an encouraging, safe environment. This team practices in various locations around the Triangle about once a week. Personalized workout suggestions are also provided for athletes to complete on their own if desired.
Our Spring Season (February-May) is specifically for athletes ages 10-14 with a focus on building beginner triathlon skills. To participate, triathletes must be able to swim 100 yards freestyle continuously and run one mile or about 10 minutes without walking or stopping. This team will train for and participate in the Just Tryan It Kids Triathlon in Chapel Hill, NC, a local charity event.
Our Summer Season (May-August) builds upon the skills learned in the spring, but also welcomes new team members who meet the minimum criteria ages 12-19. Summer Triathletes will need to be able to swim 200 yards freestyle continuously and run for 2 miles or about 20minutes without stopping. The Summer Season will turn focus to building more advanced triathlon skills. The team will train for and compete at a local summer race with the option to travel and race at USAT Youth and Junior Nationals.
